THE ORIGIN
Most of the wool trade runs on blending fibers from many places, sorted by grade, mixed for volume.
We work differently.
Every fiber in every pair comes from the same herds, in the same valleys, from herders we can call by name. It's a slower way to source. It's also the only way we know exactly what's in the sock on your foot.
THE PROCESS
Every spring, yaks, camels, and cashmere goats shed their winter down on their own. Our herders wait for that moment, then comb the fibers out by hand, one animal at a time, over several weeks. Nothing is cut. Nothing is rushed. The fiber comes off longer, softer, and structurally intact, which is what you feel when you put the sock on.
THE COMFORT
Yak, camel, and cashmere don't produce lanolin, the natural grease that gives conventional wool its scratch. What you're left with is a fiber that sits against skin the way linen or silk does: breathable, temperature-responsive, and quiet.
Most people who wear our socks stop noticing them within the hour.
